Regular inspection of injection mold is an important part to ensure the normal operation of the mold, extend its service life and ensure the quality of plastic products. The following are the main contents of regular inspection of injection mold:
1. Appearance inspection
First, check whether the appearance of the mold has obvious damage, such as scratches, cracks, deformation, etc. These problems may affect the sealing and structural strength of the mold. At the same time, check the cleanliness of the mold surface to see if there is oil, dust or plastic residue accumulation. If there is, it should be cleaned in time to avoid affecting the heat dissipation of the mold and the surface quality of the plastic product.
2. Parting surface inspection
The parting surface is the key part of the mold. Check the flatness and sealing of the parting surface. Make sure that the parting surface is not worn, concave or convex to avoid flash or leakage during the injection molding process. Check whether the fastening bolts of the parting surface are loose. If they are loose, they should be tightened in time.
3. Gate system inspection
Check whether the size and shape of the gate have changed, and whether the gate is blocked or worn. A blocked gate will affect the flow of plastic, resulting in dissatisfaction or defects in injection molding. Worn gates may change the flow rate and pressure of plastic, affecting the quality of plastic products. At the same time, check whether the gate sleeve and hot runner system are working properly, and whether there is any leakage or blockage.
4. Cooling system inspection
The cooling system is crucial to the performance of injection mold. Check whether the cooling pipe is unobstructed and whether there is any blockage or water leakage. Check whether the connection parts of the cooling pipe are well sealed to avoid coolant leakage. At the same time, check whether the temperature control device of the cooling system is working properly to ensure that the mold operates within the appropriate temperature range.
5. Ejection system inspection
Check whether the ejector pin, ejector rod and return spring of the ejection system are working properly. Make sure that the ejector pin and ejector rod are not bent, worn or broken, and the elasticity of the return spring is good. Failure of the ejection system may cause the plastic product to fail to be demolded smoothly, or even damage the mold.
6. Slider and inclined ejector mechanism inspection
If there are sliders and inclined ejector mechanisms in the mold, check whether they move smoothly and whether there is any jamming or wear. Check whether the guide parts of the slider and inclined ejector are well lubricated, and add lubricant if necessary. At the same time, check whether the locking devices of the slider and the inclined top are reliable to prevent displacement during the injection molding process.
7. Mold accuracy inspection
Use measuring tools to check whether the key dimensions and accuracy of the mold meet the requirements. Such as the size, depth, parallelism, etc. of the cavity. The decrease in mold accuracy may cause dimensional deviation or irregular shape of plastic products.
In short, regular comprehensive inspection of the injection mold can detect problems in time and take corresponding measures to repair and maintain them, thereby ensuring the normal operation of the mold and the quality of plastic products.
